There are things to do in the Ozark Mountains that are rather economical for a family, like taking a short 30 minute drive and a picnic lunch over to Roaring River State Park. At Roaring River State Park you will find a natural Ozark Spring that produces an average of over 20,000,000 gallons of water each day, a trout hatchery, trout fishing, and hiking trails. This is an educational and economical way to spend a day in the Ozarks all within a short drive of your favorite family resort!

Another interesting and economical way to spend an afternoon is at the Table Rock Dam which is located 4600 State Highway 165. Here you can visit Dewey Short Visitors Center and learn about the Dam. You can also visit the Fish Hatchery which is located across from the Dam on Lake Taneycomo. To get to the dam from Highway 76 take Highway 265 to Highway 165 which is approximately 13 miles from your favorite family resort.

Persimmon Hill Farm is a real berry, fruit and mushroom farm in the scenic Table Rock Lake country of Southwest Missouri. The farm began several decades ago when we fulfilled our dream of starting a berry farm that would also be a destination, where families could come for a farm experience as well as great berries and fruits. Families could tour the fields, pick and sample fresh berries right from the bushes, dine on hot muffins and cobblers, and taste the dozens of unique gourmet products made right on our farm. The Persimmon Hill Farm concept was never about being the biggest; it was always about quality and especially about the taste.

From Missouri 86 south and west of Branson, turn north onto Trace Hollow Road, also known as Lake Road 86-63. Bear to the left for a total of 1.5 miles, and you'll be on Persimmon Hill Lane for the final half-mile. Our farm's bear signs point the way to the farm entrance, which is on the right.
